****REPLACED BY New Mercedes iPod Kit.****.

This is the Mercedes iPod kit for the Mercedes A, B, C, CLK, ML, GL, and R class cars with DVD based COMAND APS navigation or Audio 20 CD headunit. It takes under an hour to install. It is NOT for Model Year 2009 facelift cars.

It works in the Vito/Viano, but the Vito/Viano needs to have the phone buttons on steering wheel and the instrument cluster with the LCD display.

- This iPod kit takes about an hour to install, and allows you to use your iPod with the steering wheels on your car. Track, playlist and other information is displayed on the instrument cluster display. The iPod tucks nicely away in the glovebox can can be held in place with the optional iPod cradle (dependant on iPod type).

This kit has been tested with, and works great with. the new iPhone. If you want to use the ipod kit with an iphone as both ipod and phone then you will need an HFP bluetooth cradle also. This will give you full phone and ipod functionality in your car, in the one device

If your car does not have the integrated phone system, then you will need to have the steering wheel controls enabled by a MB dealer or specialist. Enabling the controls should take about 15 minutes using their diagnostic computer.

Please note that this Mercedes iPod kit will not charge the latest nano or iPhone 3G as Apple changed to 5 Volt charging system from the original 12 Volt charging system. You can purchase a Mercedes conversion lead (from us) that will allow charging of the new iPods.

You can find instructions on how to remove the COMAND / Audio20 to install this at www.mercupgrades.com

The people at www.comand.co.uk can install the iPod kit and configure your car if needed.

You should consider purchasing the iPod holder as-well, it just helps protect your iPod/iPhone in the car.
