| Mercedes iPod kit - This is the genuine Mercedes iPod kit for the current SLK class vehicles with COMAND APS navigation system. - This iPod kit takes about 1-2 hours to install, and allows you to use your iPod with the steering wheels on your car. Track, playlist and other information is displayed on the instrument cluster display. The iPod tucks nicely away in the glovebox can can be held in place with the optional iPod cradle (dependant on iPod type). It is slightly more difficult to install than the A/B/C/CLK/ML/GL/R class kit as wires have to be run to the back of the car. This is not suitable for the Audio-50 (black and white navigation system) or the Audio-20 CD systems installed in the SLK class. This kit has been tested with, and works great with. the iPhone 3/4/4S. If you want to use the ipod kit with an iphone as both ipod and phone then you will need an HFP bluetooth cradle also. This will give you full phone and ipod functionality in your car, in the one device If your car does not have the integrated phone system, then you will need to have the steering wheel controls enabled by a MB dealer or specialist, which is a 15 minute job. The people at www.comandeurope.com can install the iPod kit and configure your car if needed. You should consider purchasing the cradle as-well, it just helps protect your iPod/iPhone in the car. This is a 'TYPE 1 iPod kit, and thus will not charge the latest nano or iPhone 3G as Apple changed to 5 Volt charging system from the original 12 Volt charging system.
