This is an iPod kit for the newer MOST based cars.

Unlike the official Mercedes iPod kits, it supports control of the iPod, including track name display on the COMAND unit itself by emulating a CD changer.

This unit is particularly suitable if your car has COMAND (colour sat nav system) or if you want to retain the use of an existing CD changer.

If you do not wish to do that or your car has Audio 20 or Audio-50-APS you should consider the GW500 LITE for MOST based vehicles.

It pretends to be a CD changer (so if you have a CD changer you can switch between, but you have to turn off/on the car normally).

Be aware that the Audio-20 and Audio-50-APS are not CD text capable, so you have some degree of control but if you want to see track names access playlists etc you can do that via the iPod itself whilst connected to the GW500.

It has iPod connector, USB connector and Aux audio connector for you to connect an various different accessories (one at a time) and to update the software in the device should further enhancements be made.

Takes under an hour to install. You will need a selection of TORX bits and the installation looks best if you can make a 20mm hole in the glovebox for the wiring grommet.

Please note that an optional bluetooth adapter is available for this unit which gives bluetooth telephony integration for your vehicle, with address book support on many phones also.
