This is an iPod kit for the newer MOST based cars.

It is the "LITE" version of the product and unlike the full version does not support retaining an existing CD changer or CD text.

If you do not wish to retain your CD changer and have an Audio-20 or Audio-50-APS (both of which do not support CD text display) then we recommend this product.

It is particulaly appropriate for where the car can not support the Mercedes iPod kit - this includes the SL (2004 - 2008), E (2003 - 2008), CLS (2005 - 2008) & SLK (2005 - 2008) classes without COMAND-APS.

It does however work nicely with all MOST based Mercedes Benz vehicles apart from the newest cars which have bluetooth phone functions built into the head unit.

It pretends to be a CD changer (so if you have a CD changer you can switch between, but you have to turn off/on the car normally).

Be aware that the Audio-20 and Audio-50-APS are not CD text capable, so you have some degree of control but if you want to see track names access playlists etc you can do that via the iPod itself whilst connected to the GW500.

It has iPod connector, and USB connector for you to connect an various different accessories (one at a time) and to update the software in the device should further enhancements be made.

You will need the iPod connecting lead if you intend to use an iPod rather than a USB stick with music on.

Takes under an hour to install. You will need a selection of TORX bits and the installation looks best if you can make a 20mm hole in the glovebox for the wiring grommet.
